"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." — Proverbs 27:17
After nearly eight years in prison, I was released in 2018—not just free, but transformed. That experience gave me a new purpose: to help men break free from addiction and rebuild meaningful lives.
During my final year of incarceration, I was reading Proverbs 27:17, which says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Sitting on the top bunk of my cell, those words sparked a vision that changed everything. In that moment, Better Together Recovery was born. I realized lasting recovery happens in community—where men encourage, challenge, and strengthen one another.
Eighteen months after my release, on June 1, 2020, I opened the first Better Together Recovery home. What started as a single house has grown into a community of seven homes, offering hope, accountability, and a fresh start to 86 men pursuing recovery and a new way of life.
My passion goes beyond sobriety. My mission is to help men discover their God-given purpose. Recovery is not only about overcoming addiction—it's about rebuilding character, restoring families, strengthening faith, and becoming leaders in their homes and communities.
At Better Together Recovery, our goal is simple: to help every man move from sobriety to purpose.
